At our birth center, you will have the option of having your baby in our relaxing waterbirth tub, making labor an easier, less painful transition. About a third of the babies born at the Ventura Birth Center have been born in the water since our opening in 1997.

The Ventura Birth Center provides a full spectrum of care, from conception through postpartum, offering the option of giving birth at the birth center or at home, as well as well-woman and annual exams.
Sue Turner is a CA Medical Board Licensed Midwife. She is also a graduate of the National College of Midwifery and currently a preceptor for the NCM. She has attended births in various settings, including homes, birth centers, and hospitals.
Other certifications and training include Neonatal Resuscitation, CPR, IV Certification, and Fetal Monitoring. Sue has appeared on TLC and NBC, several radio talk shows, and has been interviewed by various other media. She has held a number of birth-related events featuring speakers such as Dr. Marsden Wagner (WHO), Ina May Gaskin (The Farm), and Dr. Mayer Eisenstein (Homefirst), to name a few. Sue believes that each and every baby is a blessing and a gift from God. She is also a wife and mother.
