Birth Center

Many women find that by giving birth at a birth center instead of the hospital, they are creating a more family centered, peaceful, and less intimidating environment for both Mom and baby. Birth centers combine skilled clinical care with a homelike environment and encourage full physical activity during labor including eating, drinking, use of tub and shower, and full family participation as desired.

Many studies have proven Cesarean section rates are much lower in birth centers, usually attended by midwives.  The Ventura Birth Center is freestanding and is located on the same street as two local hospitals. For more information on birth centers, contact the American Association of Birth Centers,  http://www.birthcenters.org/.
